The Internet wasn't kind of our cantankerous Hall of Fame sportswriter, so Curry Kirkpatrick is stuck in the ether this week (but he claims to be stuck in a mayonnaise commercial with Meg Ryan), so producer Justin Jarrett sits in the snarky sportswriter seat for the first episode of Under The Bus since Kansas City's disastrous Super Bowl performance, leaving the City of Brotherly Love in ruin and a litany of speedbump fodder in the wake. Plus, college hoops is heating up, and that always gets the blood boiling for Coach B, and the NBA has turned into a soap opera with plenty of easy marks for a quick shove. So don't miss a new episode of UNDER THE BUS with former ESPN SportsCenter anchor Bob Stevens, legendary high school hoops coach Rich Basirico, and and Justin Jarrett sitting in for Hall of Fame sportswriter Curry Kirkpatrick! No one is safe from the proverbial bus this week, as everyone from Dan Hurley to Kirk Herbstreit's new dog gets the speedbump treatment from Hall of Fame sportswriter Curry Kirkpatrick and legendary high school basketball coach Rich Basirico on a new episode of UNDER THE BUS! Former ESPN SportsCenter host Bob Stevens plays referee while Curry and Coach B reflect on the college football national championship game and go in on Herbstreit's homerism, the flawed format of the first 12-team playoff, and ACC commissioner Jim Phillips, among others.
Plus, the gang gives its picks for the NFL conference championship games and Super Bowl and gives new Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson his flowers while sending condolences to new New York Jets coach Aaron Glenn and Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews. Curry lets the refs have it for their bubble-wrap treatment of Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Coach B chimes in with a rant of his own on pass interference.
Bob shares his indifference toward new Hall of Famer CC Sabathia and the crew shows disdain for the voters who hold out on sure-fire first-ballot picks like Derek Jeter and Ichiro. Rich leads the charge in a collective effort to push UConn coach Dan Hurley UNDER THE BUS for another round of bumps and bruises, so take that "best coach in the f***ing sport."

Our cantankerous crew of sage sports pundits is back for another episode of UNDER THE BUS! It's the first show of 2025, and our snarky squad is taking on the hottest topics in sports — including the College Football Playoff, officials deciding the game by not making a call that could decide the game, the NFL playoffs, and mayonnaise baths.
Some of the speedbumps along the way include Penn State football coach James Franklin, Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi, beefing coaches Bret Bielema (Illinois) and Shane Beamer (South Carolina), Cris Collinsworth, Sam Darnold, NY Giants owner John Mara, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, the Tennessee men's basketball team, hatin-ass Mick Cronin, Jimmy Butler, the ESPN graphics folks who emblazoned "Bulldongs" across the screen, and Curry's new nemisis — Georgia basketball standout Blue Kane and his Dookie legacy.

Join our cantankerous crew of elder statemen of the sports world as former ESPN SportsCenter anchor Bob Stevens holds court with legendary high school hoops coach Rich Basirico and Hall of Fame sportswriter and commentator Curry Kirkpatrick!
This week, we learn that new UNC coach Bill Belichick "won over" Curry, who is still in freakin' Maui, and now believes the legendary coach can win in Chapel Hill. The whole crew likes Tennessee and SMU as potential upset picks in the first round of the College Football Playoffs, and everyone has Oregon in the finals of their bracket, but Curry is going with the Dawgs to win it all. Plus, where has All-Name Team shoo-in Cam Skattabo been all our lives?
College hoops is heating up, and our resident hoop heads Curry and Rich are sold on the SEC, but they see UConn has gotten off the canvas and can't wait to throw Dan Hurley back UNDER THE BUS as soon as possible. Plus, tales of under-the-table payments to recruits in the before times of college athletics compared with the massive NIL deals luring big-time recruits to unlikely programs.
Bob tolls the bell for the 2024 Detroit Lions after a demoralizing loss to Buffalo coupled with another handful of key injuries, but Curry stands up for the Lions' offense and his boy Josh Allen and reads the Bills' running back depth chart. Rich gets in his weekly dig at Eagles coach Nick Sirianni and his usual dose of doubt about Sam Darnold. Curry calls out Colts RB Jonathan Taylor for costing himself a touchdown and his team a win — and possibly a playoff spot — and Bob makes a speedbump out of 49ers LB De'Vondre Campbell for refusing to play, which earned him the right to not play again this season. Rich smacks around Caleb Williams and everyone who anointed him the next big thing, and Curry clamors about injury reporting, insisting we're all "day-to-day" except Santa Claus, who is only one day.
Plus, Bob shares war stories from the SportsCenter days, reflecting on his time working with Charlie Steiner, Bob Ley, and Robin Roberts, among others.
Our grumpy GOATs fuss about all things sports every week and throw some of the biggest names in the game UNDER THE BUS! Catch up anytime on-demand on the Lowco Media YouTube channel or your favorite podcast app!
